The International Safer Internet Day is observed annually on the second Tuesday of February, aiming to promote responsible, respectful, critical, and creative use of the internet. The event also encourages reflection on protecting children’s and adolescents’ rights in digital environments.

In Zone 7, various educational institutions are conducting a series of activities from February 9 to 15 focused on digital safety. These activities include dialogue sessions, learning opportunities, and artistic expression related to online security.

A central event took place at Unidad Educativa José Ingenieros with the participation of Zonal Coordinator Favio Villamizar. The program featured student presentations, conferences, artistic performances, music, and interactive activities designed to raise awareness about safe internet use.

Schools in the region have organized workshops on cyberbullying prevention, talks about personal data protection, analysis of responsible social media use, and spaces for reflection.

The Ministry of Education has reiterated its responsibility to ensure harmonious and violence-free educational environments—both physical and digital—by promoting respect and preventive measures inside and outside classrooms.
