Luis Cabezas-Klaere, superintendent of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, participated as a panelist at the fourth edition of the “Gender Equity” Forum organized by the Ecuadorian-British Chamber of Commerce. The event took place in Guayaquil on March 19.
The forum was part of a program held in two cities: Quito on March 17 and Guayaquil on March 19. It brought together representatives from the public and private sectors as well as international organizations to discuss progress and challenges related to equal opportunities within corporate environments.
During the discussions, participants addressed topics such as women’s presence in leadership positions, implementation of policies to promote equity, and the role institutions play in building more inclusive workplaces within the productive sector.
Cabezas-Klaere presented data about women’s participation in company structures across Ecuador, highlighting their roles both as legal representatives and shareholders. He said that these figures show an increasing female presence in economic activities and their contribution to national development.
“It is essential that women continue strengthening their education, taking on new challenges, and contributing innovative proposals. Professional growth allows for consolidating female leadership based on skills, preparation, and perseverance, contributing to fairer, more inclusive, and competitive business environments,” Cabezas-Klaere said.
