The Superintendent of Companies, Securities and Insurance, Luis Cabezas-Klaere, met with Chris Reed, resident advisor from the Office of Technical Assistance at the United States Department of the Treasury (OTA) for Ecuador. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and technical assistance between both institutions.

According to the Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros, this official visit also included discussions about continuing training initiatives and planning future meetings and technical assistance programs that will support the institution in fulfilling its mission and responsibilities.

Before the meeting, specialists from the National Directorate for Prevention of Money Laundering within the Superintendency received training focused on mechanisms for control and detection of economic crimes. This activity is part of ongoing efforts to enhance technical skills among staff members and adopt new supervision methodologies intended to improve oversight of companies operating in strategic sectors.

“This activity forms part of our institutional interest in strengthening the technical capabilities of our personnel and incorporating new knowledge and supervision methodologies that allow us to improve monitoring over companies operating in strategic sectors,” stated a representative from the institution.
