Super Akí La Joya, a new supermarket under the Corporación Favorita group, opened its doors on August 22 in Daule. The store is located on Vial 1 street, across from Plaza Tía La Joya shopping center.
The new location features an updated design and aims to improve customer experience. The store has more than 1,600 square meters of sales space and includes ten checkout counters—some dedicated for express service and priority access for pregnant women, people with disabilities, and seniors. Security services are provided, along with over 120 parking spaces. Store hours run from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., and Sundays and holidays from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Corporación Favorita describes Super Akí as its most savings-oriented format. The store offers over 28,000 items across sections such as technology, clothing and footwear, home goods, groceries, and others.
“Super Akí La Joya welcomes you with the aim of improving quality of life,” the company stated in its announcement.
Under the “Promesa Akí” campaign, customers are promised the lowest prices in the market; if another supermarket offers a lower price for an item purchased at Super Akí La Joya—as evidenced by presenting a receipt—the difference will be refunded.
“That is the Promesa Akí*, offering the lowest prices in one place,” according to the company statement.
Super Akí La Joya also introduces “Akí Club,” which allows shoppers to accumulate points with every purchase that can later be exchanged for exclusive benefits upon presentation of their membership card.
More than thirty new private-label brands have been launched at this location across categories including beauty products, home goods, groceries, and pet supplies. Some of these brands include La Original, El Artesanal, Esy, Gama, Simpli, Smart Selection, Engy, Aromaesense, Arrurú, Automax, Bio Blend and others.
The new supermarket employs thirty staff members locally. Across Ecuador there are now ninety-eight stores operating under different AKÍ formats—Akí (46), Gran Akí (21), Súper Akí (27), and Akí Vecino (4)—generating over 3,300 direct jobs nationwide. In Costa Centro alone there are more than 2,300 employees working for Corporación Favorita.
