The Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI) has announced an extension for the filing deadlines of tax declarations and annexes originally due on July 12 and 14, 2025. This adjustment is outlined in Resolution No. NAC-DGERCGC25-00000016 and applies to taxpayers whose obligations were scheduled according to the ninth digit of their RUC number.

The SRI stated that this measure responds to a technological incident that occurred on July 14, 2025. The system experienced an unusual saturation, which temporarily affected the reception of declarations. As a result, those unable to meet their tax responsibilities due to this issue will not incur interest or penalties for late submissions.

Additionally, following the government’s declaration of a state of emergency on the State Road Network in Napo province after severe natural events caused significant damage, further deadline extensions have been granted. Taxpayers with their primary tax domicile in Napo—including state institutions and public companies governed by the Organic Law of Public Companies—whose filing dates fall between July 18 and July 28, 2025, can submit their documents according to a new schedule without facing interest or fines.

In all cases mentioned, if any new deadline falls on an official rest day or national/local holiday, it will be moved to the next working day. Payments made before these updated deadlines are considered valid under existing regulations and will not be subject to refund for any previously paid fines or interest.

For more information about these changes or assistance with filings, taxpayers can contact SRI via its national phone lines during regular business hours from Monday through Friday.
