The holiday season was marked by celebrations in schools across Quito, where students, teachers, and families gathered to observe Christmas and the end of the year. Schools were decorated in green and red, with various activities such as dances, storytelling, puppet shows, and traditional events taking place.

At Unidad Educativa Pichincha in Lloa parish, over 130 children and adolescents participated in a special Christmas program. The event was attended by María José Moyano, Subsecretary of Education, who joined the community for artistic performances and traditional festivities.

“Ustedes, niñas y niños, son el corazón de nuestras escuelas y el futuro de este Nuevo Ecuador. Cada sonrisa, cada gesto de cariño y cada acto de respeto hacen que nuestra comunidad sea más fuerte y unida,” said Moyano.

Similar events took place in other schools throughout Quito. Organizers highlighted that these gatherings help renew hope among students and reinforce the role of education in promoting values such as solidarity, peace, respect, generosity, and gratitude.

The Subsecretariat of Education, Sports and Culture of Quito extended greetings to students, teachers, and families for the holiday season: “Desde la Subsecretaría de Educación, Deporte y Cultura de Quito extendemos un saludo fraterno a estudiantes, docentes y familias, deseando unas fiestas llenas de paz, alegría y unión.”
