The official launch of the “Quito Educación, Deporte y Cultura 2025” agenda took place with music, dance, and demonstrations by students from technical high schools. This marks the twelfth consecutive year for this initiative, which coincides with the 491st anniversary of Quito’s founding.

The Subsecretariat of Education, Sports and Culture of the Metropolitan District of Quito has organized a range of free artistic, educational, and cultural activities. These events are open to students, teachers, school authorities, and families from public, private, municipal, and religious-affiliated schools.

Among the planned events is the fourth Inter-school Contest “Dibujando Sueños,” held in coordination with Jetmind Corporation. The contest aims to showcase student creativity and promote artistic expression as a way to inspire hope for a better future.

A week dedicated to promoting values will run from November 17 to 21. Activities will focus on twelve key principles: hope, cooperation, empathy, self-discipline, tolerance, generosity, perseverance, justice, solidarity, peace, resilience and gratitude.

From November 24 to 26 district parades will take place across various locations in Quito. Schools will participate alongside district directors in these student parades designed to encourage a culture of peace and strengthen local traditions through art and culture.

On November 27 the festival “Quito Educación, Deporte y Cultura 2025” will gather the educational community at Unidad Educativa Benito Juárez’s coliseum. The event aims to celebrate student achievements in arts and technical skills while encouraging learning and knowledge exchange among young people.

The celebrations also include “Balcones Quiteños.” From December 1 to 4 schools will decorate balconies inspired by legends and historical figures that reflect Quito’s identity.

“With this agenda we reaffirm our commitment to building an education that goes beyond classrooms; one that promotes art, sports and culture as fundamental pillars for our students’ comprehensive development.”

“We invite all members of Quito’s educational community to actively participate in each activity,” organizers stated. “Be part of this great celebration that unites hearts strengthens values and honors our roots.”
