President Daniel Noboa Azin announced new measures to address housing and employment needs in Ecuador during an event held on February 23, 2026, in Guayas. At the “Guayas, impulsa tu hogar con MITI MITI” event, Noboa handed over five homes from the “Los Prados” housing project. These homes are part of the Tu Casa “Miti-Miti” program led by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

Noboa emphasized that his administration prioritizes inclusive housing programs for all segments of the population. Since taking office, his government has delivered 7,814 homes nationwide through this initiative, with state contributions totaling approximately USD 228 million.

“Our goal is to reach 200,000 housing solutions. As we build more homes, we generate more jobs and this means more security,” said President Noboa. He noted that these programs are possible due to collaboration with private banks that offer mortgage loans at a 4.99% interest rate, with a 5% down payment and terms up to 25 years.

Roberto Luque, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, highlighted the purpose behind these efforts: “This is an initiative from the President that seeks for you to have a dignified life.” He added that currently there are 20,000 houses under construction nationwide as part of the Tu Casa “Miti Miti” program.

During the ceremony, citizens Luis Enrique Vinueza and Karen Georgina Madruñero received keys to their new home from President Noboa. Madruñero expressed her gratitude: “I am very happy and grateful to the president. What started as a dream is now a reality. Now my family enjoys a house that is in a club.”

The new homes feature three bedrooms and are located within planned communities offering over 6,000 square meters of green spaces including recreational areas, community gardens, covered spaces, playgrounds for children, coworking facilities, gyms, swimming pools, multi-purpose courts, orchards and walking paths designed according to sustainable building criteria.

President Noboa also reminded attendees about another available option—Credicasa—a mortgage credit program from BIESS offering a preferential interest rate of 2.99%, described as the lowest in Ecuador’s history. He encouraged families to trust this process and participate in these housing programs.
