President Daniel Noboa delivered 10 apartments to families in the “Las Praderas de Bemani” condominium in Cuenca on March 18 as part of the Tu Casa Miti Miti program. The initiative, supported by allied financial institutions, aims to help thousands of families access their first home with preferential mortgage conditions.

The program is designed to provide Ecuadorian families with technical, financial, and social support for acquiring their first home. It offers mortgage loans at a 4.99% interest rate, requiring only a 5% down payment and repayment terms of up to 30 years. President Noboa said these credit facilities are possible due to efforts by his administration to organize Ecuador’s finances. “No hay nada que dé más justicia y dignidad que tener una casa propia, que tener algo que es suyo, que nadie se lo pueda quitar,” said Noboa during the formal ceremony.

Homes under the Tu Casa Miti Miti program are available within specific price ranges: up to USD 85,796 for Social Interest Housing (VIS), and from USD 85,800.82 up to USD 110,378 for Public Interest Housing (VIP). The program currently involves an investment of USD 602 million and is managed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Financial partners include Banco del Pacífico, Banco Pichincha, Banco General Rumiñahui, Mutualista Pichincha, and Mutualista Azuay.

Noboa also highlighted that all banks have been required to offer lower interest rates and that the government has contributed USD 500 million so that the Miti Miti fund can subsidize interest rates directly for individuals. He added that other benefits are available through BIESS with loans at a 2.99% rate for social interest housing.

Jonnathan Bermeo, representing beneficiaries of the program, thanked both government and private sector efforts: “dimos una entrada factible y gracias a Dios tuve la oportunidad, junto a mi esposa e hijos, de tener una vivienda propia, que es un sueño que siempre tuvimos”.

These actions align with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Construction in Ecuador—a national initiative focused on developing strategic infrastructure across the country. In this context, Minister Luque noted key projects underway in Azuay such as the Monay overpass and the Cuenca–Molleturo road.
