President Daniel Noboa delivered nine homes on April 14 as part of the Terrenova Urbanization project in Guayas. The initiative is part of the government’s “Credicasa” and “Miti-Miti” programs, which offer preferential interest rates of 2.99% and 4.99%, respectively. In total, more than 3,029 families are expected to benefit from this housing project that consists of nine phases.
The event highlights the government’s efforts to address housing needs and provide opportunities for Ecuadorian families. Noboa said his administration is working continuously to fulfill promises such as providing home ownership.
Pedro Coello, one of the beneficiaries, said that obtaining his home was a quick and effective process, especially regarding the disbursement of funds. “Tantos años arrendando y ahora vivir en una zona con seguridad es un sueño hecho realidad,” Coello said.
Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Roberto Luque explained that procedures are being made more flexible so people who cannot afford a fully subsidized house but struggle with full payments can receive a government bonus. Luque also noted that collaboration with private companies is encouraged through tax incentives approved by the National Assembly under President Noboa’s initiative. “Hoy es una realidad y hará que entreguemos casas mucho más rápido,” Luque said.
Noboa stated that his administration aims to protect people’s well-being comprehensively: “Aquí en Guayas ya hemos entregado 2.669 hogares y más de 11.019 en todo el Ecuador. Y no vamos a parar.” He attributed these achievements to incentives for builders such as VAT refunds and laws encouraging private sector donations for housing construction.
Noboa also mentioned ongoing efforts in Guayas province to complete unfinished projects left by previous administrations, create over 320,000 jobs, provide more than USD $78 million to entrepreneurs, and grant over 170,000 scholarships nationwide. He concluded: “Estamos transformando la vida de los ecuatorianos y juntos estamos construyendo el país que nos merecemos.”
