The government, through the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society (MINTEL) in collaboration with the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), graduated 221 citizens from an intensive training program in Data Analytics, according to an April 17 announcement.

The initiative aims to strengthen digital talent and create real job opportunities. The training was delivered through Coding Bootcamps, providing participants with specialized knowledge in programming, database management, applied artificial intelligence, data visualization, and business intelligence—skills that are highly sought after in today’s job market.

During the graduation ceremony, Roberto Kury Pesantes, Minister of Telecommunications, said that “more than 56.5% of the scholarship recipients already have a job or are employed,” demonstrating what he described as a direct impact on opportunity creation. Carmen Vaca, director of the Coding Bootcamps program at ESPOL, said that participants received not only technical instruction but also training in soft skills to support their professional and personal development.

According to organizers, this program is designed not only to train data specialists but also to empower citizens who can generate solutions and contribute to national growth. They say it helps consolidate digital transformation as a tool for development.

The government says it remains committed to supporting public policies that strengthen citizen capabilities and expand access to education.
