The National CREA Fair took place again this year, providing a platform for students in upper basic and high school education across Ecuador to present academic, research, and creative projects. Organized by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, the event aims to promote innovation and encourage students to develop solutions for their communities.

The 2025 edition was hosted at the Technical University of Ambato. It featured projects from public, semi-public, municipal, and private institutions. The fair highlighted initiatives that focused on environmental responsibility, innovation, social impact, and knowledge acquisition. Students presented their work as both creators and spokespersons.

Students from Manabí received notable recognition during the event. In the humanities category, Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional Juan Montalvo won first place with its project “From Paper to Sound: Recycled Tunnel Book with Literary Spotify and Creative Podcast.” The project was recognized for its creativity, educational value, and sustainable approach. The team was awarded a trip to the Galapagos Islands.

In technology, Escuela de Educación Básica Fiscomisional La Dolorosa Fe y Alegría N.-1 secured third place with its project “Robotics with Intelligence and Conscience,” reflecting student engagement in STEAM fields.

Matthew Palma Villegas shared his experience: “Participating in the CREA fair helped me improve a lot as a team. Each stage was a challenge but also an opportunity to get better. Hearing that we got first place was incredible—the confirmation of all our work, practice hours, and ideas that were worth it.”

Student Doménica Cevallos Mero added: “The competition was an unforgettable experience. All the effort dedicated to our project was completely worth it. We were nervous but also proud of what we had achieved. We felt joy, relief, and immense pride. This participation allowed us to broaden our vision, strengthen critical thinking skills, and better understand how to contribute to the well-being of our educational community.”

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture acknowledged the talent and commitment shown by students, teachers, and families involved in these transformative educational projects. According to the ministry statement: “The National CREA Fair continues to establish itself as a space that inspires young people to become agents of change and protagonists of the country’s future.”
