A total of 1,837 third-year high school students from public, religious, and private institutions in the Costa–Galápagos regime for the 2025–2026 academic year celebrated their graduation in Zone 3 during formal ceremonies. The events marked the completion of an important stage in their academic journey.
Of the graduates, 429 are from Chimborazo province and 1,408 from Cotopaxi. Students were joined by family members, teachers, and education officials to commemorate this achievement that opens new opportunities for further studies or professional development.
“We congratulate the new graduates who today reach a significant milestone in their lives. We reaffirm our commitment to guarantee the right to inclusive and quality education so that thousands of young people continue building a better future for our country,” said Olger Mariño, Zonal Coordinator 3 of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture.
For many students, graduation represents years of dedication and support from loved ones. Erika Patango, a student at Unidad Educativa Guasaganda in Cotopaxi province, shared her feelings during her ceremony: “I feel very happy on this special day. Thanks to the support of my family and my teachers today one of my dreams comes true. Now I will continue my studies at a higher level until I achieve my profession.”
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to strengthening comprehensive education that allows students to develop their talents and plan for their futures. The high school diploma is considered a key stage within Ecuador’s educational system as it provides essential foundations for pursuing higher education or entering the workforce with responsibility and social commitment.
