The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society (MINTEL) is continuing its efforts to expand digital services to citizens across Ecuador. As part of a coordinated national strategy, the ministry is participating in social outreach events this week.

From February 18 to 22, 2026, MINTEL is present at several community events with informational stands about the Free Digital Points (PDG) project. These spaces are intended to guide people on how to access technology, connectivity, and available digital services.

Events are being held in Cotacachi, located in Imbabura province, starting today at 9:00 AM. Another event will take place in El Condado within Quito’s Metropolitan District in Pichincha province tomorrow, Saturday, February 21, also beginning at 9:00 AM. At both locations, residents can learn how to benefit from the Free Digital Points program.

According to MINTEL, “With these actions, the ministry reaffirms its commitment to continue working closely with citizens, bringing digital transformation to every territory and promoting digital inclusion as a key axis for the country’s development.”
