The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture announced on March 16 a call for professionals in civil engineering and architecture to apply for the position of Infrastructure Specialist within the Executing Unit of the PAIE Program. The role is part of the “Formar para Transformar” project, which aims to strengthen educational infrastructure across the country.
The ministry said it is seeking candidates with strong academic backgrounds and extensive experience in managing infrastructure projects, particularly those involving multilateral organizations. The goal is to ensure proper planning, execution, and supervision of construction works in the education sector.
Applicants must hold a third-level degree registered with SNIESE in Civil Engineering or Architecture. They are required to have at least eight years of general experience in infrastructure or related fields, as well as a minimum of two years working on projects funded by multilateral organizations. Additional requirements include knowledge of national education system regulations, public procurement processes, and project management; participation in at least two public infrastructure projects in Ecuador; and experience coordinating between institutions and managing permits while meeting technical and administrative standards.
Interested candidates should complete a résumé matrix available through an online link provided by the ministry. Afterward, applicants must send all required documents—including the completed résumé matrix, their résumé in “Encuentra Empleo” format, and supporting certificates—by email to formarparatransformar@minedec.gob.ec with the subject line: “ESPECIALISTA DE INFRAESTRUCTURA DE LA UNIDAD EJECUTORA – PAIE.”
Applications will be accepted until March 19. The position will be contracted under professional services billing terms, with work based in Quito. The ministry said this initiative reaffirms its commitment to improving educational spaces nationwide by bringing specialized talent into its efforts.
