The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MINEDEC) has provided 10 projectors and 10 speakers to schools in the Arenillas and Las Lajas cantons. This action is part of the National Program for Reducing the Digital Divide. The equipment was delivered at an event held at Ciudad de Loja school in Las Lajas, attended by zonal coordinator Favio Villamizar, district director Esneider Córdova, teachers, students, and community representatives. The investment for these technological resources totaled USD 4,562.
Zonal coordinator Favio Villamizar emphasized the impact of these resources on public education: “These technological resources constitute a key tool to energize classes, improve understanding of content, and ensure that our students, especially in rural areas, have access to higher quality education.”
In addition to the technology equipment, eight schools in Las Lajas received educational materials such as dolls, tambourines, drums, building blocks, coloring boxes, cleaning kits, puzzles, Jenga towers, and other didactic materials. These items are intended to foster creativity, motor skills, collaboration, and meaningful learning from an early age.
Several schools in Las Lajas also received whiteboards and classroom furniture to improve educational spaces and support student well-being.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public education by providing technological tools and pedagogical equipment that contribute to educational quality in Zone 7.
