The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) has extended the deadline for submitting bids in the tender process for acquiring pavement evaluation equipment. This decision, announced through Amendment Circular No. 04, aims to encourage broader participation from both national and international suppliers and ensure a competitive and transparent process.

According to MIT, this extension follows a technical review of the schedule. The project is financed by the World Bank as part of the Emergency Resilient Reconstruction Project. The acquisition is expected to enhance technical management of Ecuador’s State Road Network through specialized evaluations that support timely maintenance and rehabilitation decisions.

The revised timeline sets February 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., as the new deadline for bid submissions at MIT’s Subsecretariat for Transport Infrastructure on the 17th floor. Technical bids will be publicly opened on February 4, 2026, at 11:15 a.m., in MIT’s auditorium in Quito. Requests for clarification are accepted until January 21, 2026, and bid validity extends until May 23, 2026.

The process follows a two-envelope system—technical and economic—aligned with World Bank procurement regulations. Evaluation criteria allocate a weight of 40% to technical offers and 60% to economic offers.

MIT invites eligible supplier companies to review process documents available at https://www.mit.gob.ec/licitacion-de-obras-mtop/ and encourages active participation in this contract aimed at improving planning and maintenance of Ecuador’s road network.

“MIT reiterates its invitation to eligible supplier companies to review the process documents and actively participate in this procurement, which constitutes a key step toward improving planning and conservation of Ecuador’s road network,” stated the ministry.
