The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture is carrying out maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction projects in schools across Chimborazo province as part of its efforts to improve educational quality and provide safe learning environments. In 2025, these initiatives have directly benefited thousands of students by improving their study conditions and supporting the development of the provincial education system.

Corrective and preventive maintenance has been completed at six educational institutions with an investment of $128,204.17. This work has impacted 6,398 students at Unidad Educativa Carlos Cisneros, Unidad Educativa San Juan, Escuela de Educación Básica Fray Enrique Vacas Galindo, Unidad Educativa Especializada Dr. Luis Benavides, Unidad Educativa Amelia Gallegos Díaz, and Unidad Educativa Comunitaria Intercultural Bilingüe Santiago de Quito. The improvements included repairs to roofs, sanitary systems, electrical installations, painting, fencing, and other essential components for safe operation.

In addition to maintenance work, the Integral Educational Infrastructure Restructuring Project (PRIIE 2025) is underway. This project involves building three classrooms, six restroom facilities, and providing playground equipment. The total investment for construction is $353,417.70 with an additional $14,136.71 allocated for oversight. These upgrades will benefit 1,491 students at three public schools: Unidad Educativa Quislag, Unidad Educativa Juan Francisco Yerovi, and Unidad Educativa Gonzol.

All ongoing projects are being closely monitored to ensure proper execution and timely delivery. The national government reiterates its commitment to investing in school environments that support higher quality education for both students and teachers in Chimborazo.
