The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture is organizing a series of workshops titled “Exploring Neurodivergences” from January 16 to January 30, 2026. These workshops are intended for professionals from the Student Counseling Departments (DECE), Inclusion Support Teachers (DAI), and teams from the District Unit for Inclusion Support (UDAI).
The initiative is being held in collaboration with the Psychopedagogical Support Center “Tiempo de Aprender.” The main aim is to enhance educators’ ability to identify, understand, and support students with neurodivergent conditions such as dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Organizers state that this effort seeks to ensure comprehensive and equitable educational processes with a rights-based approach. The program also encourages inter-institutional cooperation, professional development, and experience sharing among participants.
Olger Mariño, Zonal Coordinator for Zone 3, emphasized the importance of these training sessions: “We reaffirm our commitment to work alongside education professionals to strengthen their skills and promote pedagogical practices that respond to the needs of all students, thus building inclusive, equitable environments focused on the integral development of the educational community.”
The workshops will take place in Cotopaxi on January 16, Chimborazo on January 23, and Pastaza on January 30. Professionals working in student counseling, inclusion support teaching staff, and inclusion teams are invited to participate actively. They will have opportunities to share experiences, update their knowledge base, and improve pedagogical strategies. Those interested in attending can visit their nearest educational district office for more information.
