The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed the first case of influenza A(H3N2) variant K in the country. The patient, located in the southern region, is currently under medical supervision and following established protocols for respiratory infections.
According to the Ministry, epidemiological surveillance systems and ongoing monitoring of respiratory viruses remain active nationwide.
“The case has been identified opportunely and the patient is under medical follow-up, complying with established protocols for this type of respiratory infection,” stated the Ministry.
The public is urged to continue preventive measures such as frequent handwashing and wearing masks if experiencing respiratory symptoms. “We reiterate to the population the importance of maintaining preventive measures, such as frequent hand washing and mask use in case of respiratory symptoms. In case of any warning signs, promptly seek health services,” said officials.
Vaccination against influenza remains available free of charge at health centers across the country, especially for priority groups. The Ministry encourages citizens to seek information from official sources and its website.
