The tenth edition of the Loja International Festival of Living Arts (FIAVLoja) concluded with a high turnout and significant government support. The event, which took place from November 13 to 23, 2025, received an investment of approximately $1.35 million from President Daniel Noboa’s administration. This funding enabled the festival to attract over 163,000 attendees across 313 scheduled activities.

The festival was organized through a partnership between the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture and the Municipality of Loja. According to organizers, FIAVLoja is now considered Ecuador’s largest cultural event.

Over eleven days, Loja became a central hub for artistic creation in Ecuador. Activities were held at various venues including traditional theaters, public squares, parks, and streets. The festival drew artists, cultural managers, and audiences from both Ecuador and abroad.

This year’s edition coincided with the declaration of 2025 as the Ibero-American Year of Performing Arts in 22 countries. Chile participated as the guest of honor alongside representatives from 17 other countries and the European Union.

A total of 116 groups—including national, international, and local ensembles—performed 125 works. The festival involved more than 6,300 people working in arts and culture roles such as artists, technicians, managers, and students participating in parades.

Organizers reported that all scheduled events were carried out as planned. The program included several components: International, National, Municipal, Children and Youth sections; FIAVLab-Festival School; National Program Road to Loja; and Health+Art.

Support for the festival came from key partners including the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), Institute for Promotion of Arts Innovation and Creativity (IFAIC), Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), Inter-institutional Technical Board of the Festival de Loja, accredited diplomatic corps in Ecuador, and private companies.

The closing event featured a performance by Chilean group Los Nadie Circo with their show “Perfecta” at Teatro Benjamín Carrión.
