Twin newborns have been discharged after 66 days of specialized care in the neonatology unit at Hospital General José María Velasco Ibarra in Tena. The twins were born at 33.1 weeks of gestation and required ongoing medical attention from birth.

A multidisciplinary team, including specialist doctors, nursing staff, and support professionals, provided comprehensive care throughout their stay. The hospital reports that this coordinated approach ensured timely, safe, and humane treatment for the infants.

Paola Rodríguez, a pediatric specialist involved in the case, said: “We want to deliver your children in good condition and thank you for the sacrifice you have made in supporting them.”

The twins’ mother, María Grefa, expressed her gratitude for the care received: “First of all, I want to thank God for this wonderful day because I am leaving with my two little twins. I also want to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone at the hospital.”

The hospital states that this case demonstrates its commitment to neonatal care by prioritizing quality and protection of life from its earliest stages.

The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) reiterated its dedication to providing health services with responsibility and teamwork while supporting families during critical moments.
