Holcim Ecuador announced on Apr. 8 the release of its Sustainability Report for 2024-2025, outlining efforts to combine financial success with environmental responsibility in the construction sector.
The company said that sustainability is central to its growth and that more than 66 percent of its sales now come from sustainable solutions. Holcim Ecuador reported double-digit growth across all business lines and a market share of 48 percent.
According to the report, Holcim Ecuador invested USD 56.8 million between 2024 and 2025, with over half allocated to green initiatives, clean energy, and decarbonization projects. The company said it reduced its carbon footprint by 15.3 percent through measures such as incorporating electric machinery and vehicles.
The report also highlights Holcim Ecuador’s leadership in circular economy practices. The company operates what it describes as the country’s first industrial waste sorting station in Samborondón, contributing to a national recycling rate of 52 percent.
Holcim Ecuador integrated artificial intelligence into its plants and trained staff in new technologies to improve efficiency. The company said it benefited more than 200,000 people through community programs focused on education, health, and infrastructure. In addition, Holcim Ecuador reported revenues of USD 384.6 million and noted it was recognized for the eighth consecutive year as the top-ranked company in corporate reputation within its sector by MERCO rankings.
Looking ahead, Holcim Ecuador stated that innovation and resource protection are essential for industry development beyond simple demand trends.
