The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture announced on March 25 that the application period for public technological institutes and higher conservatories will be open from April 3 to April 7, as part of the admission process for the first academic term of 2026.

This stage will involve more than 17,000 candidates who have already completed a prior evaluation. These applicants can select their preferred academic options based on their scores and interests using the online platform at https://www.registrounicoedusup.gob.ec.

There are currently 54 institutes affiliated with the ministry nationwide. These institutions will offer a total of 151 programs aimed at strengthening technical and technological education as an important alternative for professional training and workforce integration.

The application score is determined by three components: an evaluation grade (50 percent), a high school diploma grade (50 percent), and additional points awarded through affirmative action policies that consider socioeconomic status, rural or territorial factors, and situations of vulnerability. Applicants may apply to up to three different programs during this stage. More information about available programs can be found at https://bit.ly/3NWx6ms.

According to the ministry’s statement, these measures are intended to support broader access to public higher education by increasing opportunities for citizens and developing human talent as a foundation for national progress.
