The government of President Daniel Noboa has announced a third round of influenza vaccinations, scheduled for Sunday, December 28, 2025. This initiative follows two previous vaccination campaigns that reached over 716,000 people.
According to the announcement, the campaign is a joint effort between President Noboa and Vice President María José Pinto. The goal is to close vaccination gaps and protect families as respiratory viruses increase in circulation during the months of November through January.
The third “Vacunatón contra la influenza” will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at strategic points and health centers across all provinces in Ecuador.
As of December 25, 2025, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) reports that a total of 913,977 influenza vaccine doses have been administered. While significant progress has been made among strategic sectors and patients with chronic conditions, this new campaign aims to further prioritize vulnerable groups.
The Ministry will deploy mobile brigades and keep all vaccination points active to ensure children under five years old, pregnant women, older adults, and individuals with chronic diseases receive their flu shots. These populations are considered at higher risk for complications related to influenza.
Information about nearby vaccination sites can be found on the official Ministry website at www.salud.gob.ec.
“The vaccines are safe and free,” states the release from health authorities.
