The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) is building four bridges along the E45A route between Coca and Dayuma in Orellana province. The project is being carried out with financial support from the Technical Secretariat for the Special Amazonian Territorial District (STCTEA), and is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of this year.

According to Yésica Aigaje, regional sub-secretary, and Salvador Espinoza, district director for Orellana, these projects are important for local residents and will contribute to both provincial and national development.

District director Salvador Espinoza provided updates on each bridge’s progress. The Indillama bridge, measuring 40 meters long and 11.3 meters wide, has reached 77 percent completion. The deck slab is finished, gabion protection at abutments has been installed, and access improvements have been made.

The Cóndor bridge structure spans 20 meters and is 95 percent complete. The deck slab is done, final access works are underway, and asphalt pavement installation will follow.

Salado Bajo bridge is 30 meters long with a 75 percent completion rate. Metal beam welding and structural fill work at abutments are ongoing.

The Salado Alto bridge also measures 30 meters in length with a physical progress of 73 percent. Current activities include reinforcing steel assembly for the structure, preparation for beam installation, and construction of gabion walls at accesses.

“The National Government led by President Daniel Noboa continues working to provide top-level infrastructure to Orellana province with the aim of improving connectivity for users and contributing to the socio-economic development of the Amazon region and the country,” according to an official statement.
