The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture’s Yacuambi-Zamora District organized the Interinstitutional Educational and Sociocultural Fair to mark International Women’s Day on March 20. The event aimed to provide adolescents, girls, and boys with information about state services and organizations focused on preventing violence and addressing psychosocial risks.
The fair sought to strengthen the educational community’s knowledge of their rights while promoting safe, respectful, equitable, and inclusive environments. Various educational institutions and invited entities set up informational stands to share projects, messages, and services related to defending women’s rights, preventing violence, and fostering equality.
Artistic and cultural activities were also part of the program. Students from different schools participated in poetry recitations that highlighted women’s greatness, courage, and resilience. Musical performances by students contributed to a day dedicated to reflection, awareness-raising, and artistic expression in honor of women.
District director Vanessa Palma said it is important “to generate these types of interinstitutional spaces that allow us to inform, prevent, and accompany girls, boys, and adolescents facing risk situations,” reaffirming the education sector’s commitment to building safer communities free from violence.
Diana Sánchez from the Department of Student Counseling (DECE) said working together is valuable for preventing violence and psychosocial risks. She added that timely access to information strengthens comprehensive protection for students.
The Ministry confirmed its commitment “to promote educational and sociocultural actions that foster equity, respect, and guarantee rights for girls, adolescents,
and women.”
