More than 25 teams are taking part in the first Intercollegiate Student Ecuavóley Championship “Saca tú 3” in Machala. The event is organized by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture with the aim of encouraging healthy competition, teamwork, discipline, and values such as respect and camaraderie among students.

Favio Villamizar Sánchez, zonal coordinator 7 of MINEDEC, stated: “This tournament symbolizes that master play which not only seeks points on the scoreboard but also represents unity, strategy, and the celebration of our identity through a sport as much ours as ecuavóley.”

Ángela Tinoco, a student at Unidad Educativa 10 de Agosto, noted that her school offers a Technical Baccalaureate in Sports and that this competition promotes gender equality. “I am very happy to participate in the sports tournament,” she said.

Fausto Mosquera, a student from Unidad Educativa 9 de Octubre, believes that promoting sports is one of the best ways to keep young people focused on their studies.

Carlos Rosales, physical education teacher at Unidad Educativa Batalla Naval de Jambelí, hopes that the competition will motivate students to work together as a team.

The Ministry continues to promote harmonious coexistence through ecuavóley, which is recognized as a traditional Ecuadorian sport.
