Ecuadorian government pays $1.7 million in incentives to high performance athletes

The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture (MINEDEC) has announced the payment of $1.7 million in pending economic incentives for 2025 to athletes participating in the High Performance Plan. The payment was made through the Vice Ministry of Sport.

According to MINEDEC, these funds are intended to directly benefit athletes who represent Ecuador in both national and international competitions. The ministry stated that this support is aimed at strengthening the development of sports in the country.

“The National Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the National Sports System and its ongoing support for athletes who, with discipline and dedication, raise Ecuador’s name high in every sporting arena,” according to a statement from MINEDEC.

The government emphasized that this measure demonstrates continued backing for athletes as part of efforts to improve sports infrastructure and opportunities within Ecuador.
