From November 27 to December 3, 2025, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture (Minedec) will open the National Registry for those seeking admission to public higher education institutions in Ecuador. This registration is mandatory for applicants to technological institutes, higher conservatories, universities, or polytechnic schools for the first academic period of 2026.

The process will be conducted exclusively online via the platform registrounicoedusup.gob.ec. Applicants must complete their information on the site, verify that their data is up-to-date, and download a receipt as proof of registration.

The call targets students currently in their final year of high school under the Costa – Galápagos regime for the 2025-2026 academic year. It also includes graduates from previous years who wish to pursue studies at public higher education institutions.

Foreign nationals residing legally in Ecuador are also eligible if they have a valid passport and visa through June 2026 and hold a high school diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture.

Additionally, this registration applies to those interested in specialized programs offered by organizations such as the National Police, Naval Force, Fire Department, and other institutions.

The ministry emphasizes that the platform will only be available during the specified dates. “We urge citizens to complete this stage within the established deadlines to ensure participation in subsequent phases of access to public higher education,” stated Minedec officials.
