The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture of Ecuador, in partnership with CNT EP and Google, has launched the Google Day program for Digital Educational Transformation in Zone 4. The event took place in Manta and brought together more than 700 teachers.
The initiative integrates Google Workspace For Education Plus into Ecuador’s broader digital education strategy. Its aim is to enhance technological skills among both teachers and students, supporting an inclusive and modern educational system.
Maximiliano Núñez Tomaselli, Zone 4 Coordinator for Education, Sports and Culture, said: “This initiative marks a before and after in the use of educational technology, bringing our teachers tools that foster collaborative learning and innovation in classrooms.”
Karen Cedeño, a teacher at Corina del Parral de Velasco Ibarra Early Childhood Center, shared that the training encourages her professional growth and helps her make better use of digital resources to improve teaching practices.
Jhonatan Triviño, from Dolorosa Fe y Alegría Basic Education School, stated: “These tools strengthen interaction with our students and make learning a more dynamic and meaningful experience.”
The program is expected to benefit over 3 million students, 150,000 teachers, and 8,000 administrative staff nationwide.
Through this effort, the government seeks to promote educational innovation while addressing the digital divide across Ecuador.
