The Ministry of Environment and Energy, in collaboration with EP Petroecuador and private sector companies, has announced an increase of 2,411 barrels per day in Ecuador’s national oil production. This rise is attributed to recent activities such as exploration, well testing, and stabilization efforts aimed at strengthening the country’s hydrocarbon value chain.
The measures include the completion of stability and production tests at three wells: Yuralpa-36 HST1 in Block 21 (Napo province), Shushufindi-223 in Block 57 (Sucumbíos province), and Tigüino-26 in Block 66 (Orellana province). EP Petroecuador operates both the Yuralpa and Shushufindi wells, while Petrobell manages the Tigüino site.
Yuralpa currently produces 678 barrels of crude oil per day. The Shushufindi well contributes an additional 1,010 barrels daily. Tigüino-26 adds another 723 barrels each day.
Operational staff will continuously monitor these wells’ productivity and assess further optimization opportunities to ensure ongoing sustainability through technical oversight.
According to the statement, “The National Government, led by President Daniel Noboa, establishes an ambitious plan that seeks to reposition national crude oil production figures as well as reorganize industry targets through the application of technology, innovation, and technical expertise, which translates into more resources for Ecuadorians.”
These initiatives are part of a broader government policy focused on gradually increasing national crude output and ensuring stable energy resources for the country.
