Sixty professionals from the Departments of Student Counseling (DECE) took part in an induction training session on the institutional management model, according to a Dec. 18 announcement. The participants were recent hires from November and represented educational districts including Chilla-El Guabo-Pasaje, Machala, Arenillas-Huaquillas-Las Lajas, and Santa Rosa.
The training aimed to ensure comprehensive, timely, and effective support for the educational community. Attendees strengthened their understanding of strategic areas and tools that guide DECE operations within the national education system.
During the session, trainers covered key components of the management model with a focus on practical application of technical tools for more efficient intervention in school settings. Protocols and procedures for responding to violence within educational environments were also discussed through case studies designed to help participants correctly implement established processes.
The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture said it remains committed to strengthening student counseling services by promoting safe and inclusive learning environments free from violence.
