A total of 287 students graduated from Colegio de Bachillerato Tnte. Hugo Ortiz, according to a March 23 announcement, completing their academic training through Distance Virtual (271) and Semi-presential (16) modalities.
The event highlighted the perseverance and commitment of graduates who overcame various challenges to finish their studies. Among the new graduates are workers, mothers, and individuals who returned to education regardless of age, serving as examples for society.
Johanna Sánchez, district official for Loja, said: “This modality has allowed more people to access the educational system by providing inclusive and flexible opportunities that adapt to different realities. As the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture we reaffirm the right to education and with the incorporation of new graduates in this modality it is clear that we are on the right path.”
During the ceremony, outstanding students were recognized for their achievements throughout the academic period. María Francisca Severino was named best graduate in Distance Virtual mode while Gabriela Gallegos received recognition as best graduate in Semi-presential mode.
“Today I have fulfilled a dream; during this time there have been many obstacles which we have taken as lessons and thanks to them we have excelled. We thank the institution for giving us this opportunity; without support from teachers, family members and authorities this would not have been possible,” said María Francisca Severino.
The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture confirmed its commitment to supporting people with incomplete schooling by offering opportunities that allow them to learn and build a better future.
